This is the finest combination of stones you will find.
With the ultra fine side you will be able to put a razor edge on a Case knife.
With the coarse side you will be able to take a nick or burr out of the blade. While medium and fine stones are common, it is the coarse and ultra fine that really give you the ability to maintain your Case knife at the highest level.
The wood caps elevate the stone to allow you to draw a blade across the stone without scraping your knuckles on the table surface.
